Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 2.72% or 0.14 points to trade at 5.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.90% or 0.42 points to end at 47.45 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was up 0.65% or 0.61 points to 93.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB (BR:UCB), which fell 5.20% or 4.38 points to trade at 79.85 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 3.18% or 1.200 points to end at 36.500 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 2.40% or 1.230 points to 50.010.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 94 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.13% or 1.40 to $1114.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.93% or 0.94 to hit $33.24 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.98% or 1.01 to trade at $34.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.0952, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.7625.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 98.56.
