Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 6.55% or 0.333 points to trade at 5.413 at the close. Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 1.60% or 0.158 points to end at 10.000 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 1.60% or 0.435 points to 27.565 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which lost 1.15% or 0.075 points to trade at 6.457 in late trade. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 1.06% or 0.10 points to end at 9.43 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) shed 0.85% or 0.014 points to 1.626.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 83 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.04% or 0.45 to $1271.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.07% or 0.50 to hit $46.20 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.27 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1292, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7861.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 94.73.
