Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity, Transport and Real Estate Investments sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which rose 16.89% or 0.250 points to trade at 1.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) added 4.66% or 1.86 points to end at 41.74 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was up 4.13% or 3.60 points to 90.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) declined 2.43% or 8.40 points to end at 337.60 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) was down 1.98% or 0.09 points to 4.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 278 to 126 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.33% or 14.20 to $1079.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.30% or 0.47 to hit $35.59 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.69 to trade at $36.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 2.9178, while EUR/TRY rose 0.90% to 3.1882.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 98.39.
