Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.70% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 4.88% or 0.2180 points to trade at 4.6880 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 4.84% or 0.245 points to end at 5.310 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) was up 1.71% or 0.25 points to 14.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which lost 1.41% or 0.47 points to trade at 32.76 in late trade. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 1.29% or 0.33 points to end at 25.31 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) shed 1.05% or 0.40 points to 37.52.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 64 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 4.31% or 2.09 to $46.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.15% or 1.94 to hit $44.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.72% or 9.65 to trade at $1344.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1106, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.8437.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 96.19.
