Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which rose 1.49% or 0.37 points to trade at 25.25 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 1.45% or 0.31 points to end at 21.69 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 1.27% or 0.08 points to 6.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which lost 2.05% or 0.170 points to trade at 8.140 in late trade. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) declined 1.75% or 0.165 points to end at 9.290 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) shed 1.62% or 0.220 points to 13.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 185 to 166 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.19% or 0.62 to $52.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.91% or 0.50 to hit $55.74 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1256.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.0601, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8537.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 100.91.
