Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 1.26%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 1.31% or 3.160 points to trade at 243.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 0.38% or 0.390 points to end at 103.270 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) was up 0.18% or 0.100 points to 54.980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 24.90% or 1.300 points to trade at 3.920 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 3.09% or 1.240 points to end at 38.910 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was down 3.01% or 1.440 points to 46.330.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 103 to 41 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.51% or 15.80 to $1065.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.66% or 0.23 to hit $34.72 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.00% or 0.37 to trade at $36.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.18% to 17.0800, while EUR/MXN rose 0.78% to 18.5624.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 98.70.
