Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 6.70% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.2390 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 2.20% or 0.180 points to end at 8.370 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.33% or 0.0210 points to 6.4110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 3.70% or 0.1340 points to trade at 3.4890 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.16% or 0.0004 points to end at 0.0181 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.77% or 0.1100 points to 6.1040.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 31 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.57% or 0.75 to $46.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $44.40 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.72% or 22.85 to trade at $1349.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.1246, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8370.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.92% at 94.86.
