Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 1.11% or 1.230 points to trade at 112.000 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 0.90% or 0.990 points to end at 111.140 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) was up 0.57% or 0.190 points to 33.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 3.44% or 1.080 points to trade at 30.280 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) declined 2.78% or 4.240 points to end at 148.300 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.53% or 0.99 points to 38.11.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 60 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.35 to $1341.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.45% or 1.09 to hit $45.57 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.30% or 1.07 to trade at $47.55 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.57% to 19.9018, while EUR/MXN rose 0.81% to 22.3945.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.20.
