Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 1.69% or 0.077 points to trade at 4.624 at the close. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) added 1.14% or 0.34 points to end at 30.50 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.10% or 0.24 points to 22.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.81% or 2.350 points to trade at 81.340 in late trade. Randstad (AS:RAND) declined 1.38% or 0.76 points to end at 54.20 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 1.16% or 0.65 points to 55.21.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 62 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.67% to 18.01.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.72% or 1.38 to $49.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.43% or 1.29 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.70 to trade at $1287.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.0686, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8354.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 99.90.
