Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Mining & Oil and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which rose 4.74% or 0.270 points to trade at 5.970 at the close. Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP) added 2.16% or 0.95 points to end at 45.00 and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PS:TEL) was up 1.94% or 40.00 points to 2100.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which lost 2.79% or 2.300 points to trade at 80.200 in late trade. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 2.51% or 0.130 points to end at 5.050 and International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) shed 2.24% or 1.500 points to 65.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 70 and 51 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.30 to $1328.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.33 to trade at $44.80 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.10% to 7.0598, while USD/PHP fell 0.07% to 47.140.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 97.06.
