Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 4.50% or 9.760 points to trade at 226.850 at the close. Meanwhile, PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 4.36% or 8.870 points to end at 212.370 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 3.81% or 1.230 points to 33.540 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which fell 1.90% or 1.780 points to trade at 91.760 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 1.61% or 0.750 points to end at 45.710 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 0.98% or 0.370 points to 37.560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 104 to 56 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) rose to all time highs; up 3.81% or 1.230 to 33.540.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.18% or 12.60 to $1081.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.56% or 0.23 to hit $41.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.15 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.73% to 16.6130, while EUR/MXN fell 0.06% to 17.8275.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 99.08.
