The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing, primarily, at least 80% of its assets (net assets plus the amount of any borrowings made for investment purposes) under normal market conditions in a diversified portfolio of equity securities of U.S. companies within the range of securities of the S&P SmallCap 600 Index ("index") at the time of initial purchase. Equity securities include common and preferred stocks and securities with economic characteristics similar to those of common stock, such as rights and warrants.
