yes effectivelywe are seeing ego at its best. china have retaliated increasing import tax as well.trump is trying to redirect local buying of these products to locally made substitute of similar goods.

I am not trained in economics so I have a question for anyone that can help..When Trump raises import taxes, doesn't that discourage foreign trade with the US in general? Does this lead countries that currently trade with the US will look elsewhere for more friendly terms?
