Aussie shares are expected to open higher following a positive trading session overnight with the major US indices finishing just over half a percent higher respectively. With US mid-term election results around the corner, Donald Trump ended his midterm speech on America's ‘roaring’ economy – first results are expected just after 10am AEDT. Most betting markets and expert analysis all hint towards a Republican sweep leaving a slim majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives.

Australian markets are at a 2-week high following the RBA’s growth expectations. Banks assisted boosting the top Index with CBA (AX:CBA) up 1.4 per cent, Westpac (AX:WBC) higher by 1.5 per cent and NAB (AX:NAB) up 1.1 per cent.
